We are a small nimble custom software and integration company. My business model consists of 2 full time employees and up to 10 contractors. I can quickly ramp up and down production based on demand.
Opportunity: Customer has a large ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which manages their entire inventory, front desk sales, purchase orders and financial statements. Due to an un-predictable change in the market inventory has increased by 50% over the past 3 months. The company has slowed down purchasing but now is getting customer complaints that the needed product is not on the shelf. The reports and processes in the past are not enough to get to the bottom of the issue.
Intuitive BPM Solution: Intuitive BPM employees collaborated with local company experts to solve the issue. Raw data was pulled out of the ERP on a daily schedule into an external database. Other external data which was not available in the ERP was compiled. Multiple rapid incremental steps were used to isolate and present inventory information which the local company experts could effectively solve the inventory crisis. The iterations continued, the external module was 'hardened for production' and the module became a regular part of the company's inventory management process.
Conclusion:This solution in no way replaced the ERP or the ERP inventory management process. The first actionable results were produced in less than 4 days. The total solution was completed in less than 200 hours over 90 days. This solution both saved the company large amounts of money on excess inventory as well as made them money by having the right product on the shelf. The cost of development and implementation was recovered in weeks.
